Number 1′s Tour : DAR Constitution Hall : Washington, DC : 03 22 2011 :
I would consider this one of my all-time favorite performances. I’ve always liked Janet Jackson’s music, but this was my first time seeing her in concert, and I wish I had seen her before now.
With this being her “Number 1s Tour”, she performed all of my favorite Janet songs. Don’t tell anyone, but a little part of me was tempted to put my camera down and do part of the Rhythm Nation dance. I was practically on my feet BOTH nights. Yes, I went to both shows.
The lighting was amazing, the wardrobe was dope, the choreography was dead on, and Janet looked very hot – a concert photographer’s dream.
She did a very emotional tribute to Michael Jackson, dressed in all white, with several images from their childhood in the background. ***insert “Michael Jackson moment” tear.
I returned the second night with a gift for Janet, a framed photo from the previous night’s show, which I was told she and her Manager really liked, and her Manager said “That’s one of the best concert photos of Janet I’ve ever seen.”.
I wasn’t able to meet her, but she did autograph a mat for me, for my personal gallery, as well as an enlarged photo for the DAR Constitution Hall Wall of fame, backstage, which will join my Drake, and Erykah Badu photos.
